Enable BlackBerry Browser without BIS/BES

This simple hack enables Blackberry default browser to use a normal internet plan instead of a costly dataplan or enables the browser for those who don’t have a dataplan. All you require is to get a cheaper normal GPRS/3G plan and configure the TCP/IP option in your blackberry. This hack in no way will affect your Push-mail and messaging services and you can always revert to the previous state easily too. So the following people are benefited with this hack:

For all those using blackberry without a dataplan, they cannot access or use the default blackberry browser. Without access to the browser they wont be able to do an OTA install of apps or install the Blackberry ‘AppWorld’.
In some countries, the Blackberry Dataplan is very costly. So using it to download apps and browsing will burn their pockets. These people will be benefited if they could access Browser using normal GPRS/3G plan which is way cheaper.

Follow these steps to do it:

First we need to enable legacy restore mode. To do that:

Go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book.
For QWERTY models hold ALT and press ‘S’ ‘B’ ‘E’ ‘B”. For Sure-type (1/2 qwerty) models hold ALT and press ‘S’ ‘S’ ‘B’ ‘E’ ‘B’ & for touch screen models hold [!?123] until it show lock icon and press 4 ? 2 ? – means ALT ‘S’ ‘B’ ‘E’ ‘B’.
You will then see the message “Legacy SB Restore Enable”.

After that you are free to backup/Restore Service Book on your BlackBerry.

Now download this file:
It is a backup file(.ipd) which can be used to restore a specific service book. Now follow these steps

Open Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Uploading images from CameraRoll and CameraUI

Getting the media promise

The first step is to request the image from either the CameraRoll or the CameraUI object. In both cases, you create the appropriate object, set up some event listeners, and then call the function that asks for the image. The runtime then returns the image in an event containing the media promise after the user has either chosen a picture from the device media library or taken a new picture with the camera.


The following code example sets up the event listeners necessary to handle the events that can be dispatched by a CameraRoll object and then calls the browseForImage() method. When the user selects an image, the runtime calls an event handler function named, imageSelected.

Creating a battery monitor application

In this section, you’ll use Flash Professional to build a sample application for the PlayBook. To demonstrate how the app works, a battery monitor application is provided for you to download in the Requirements section at the top of this page. The sample files folder contains two subfolders. The items in the “For desktop” folder enable you to preview the functions of the application in Flash. The items in the “For simulator” folder use the APIs provided in the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK. The files in this folder can be packaged and deployed to the PlayBook simulator.

Introduction to the Battery Monitor

The Battery Monitor is an application that displays an accurate battery level and status. After downloading and uncompressing the sample files folder, open the file named BatteryMonitor.fla located in the “For desktop” folder. Test the movie to preview the application locally

How to Build BlackBerry PlayBook Apps with Flash Professional CS5 or cs5.5

1) Download and install blackberry air SDK from blackberry site
after installed this sdk open flash pro cs5 or cs5.5
file – publish settings
selected air 2.5 ( cs5) OR 2.6 (cs5.5)
press ok
open file – Actionscript settings

in library Path tab
click on + sign
than click on swc icon
selecte qnx-screen.swc file from

than again click on swf icon
select qnx-air.swc file from here

press ok

now click on qnx-air.swc file in advanced actionscript panel for open its property
Link Type : Merged into code
RSL URL:(n/a)
Police File URL:(n/a)

link Type change with “External”
for that double click on merged into code text
Library Path item options box will be opened.
now select like type Exernal from drop down
Press ok
close settings box
now open action script window
type import qnx. you can get list all qnx class
now your blackberry sdk attached with your flash Pro.

download and install blackberry semulitor
download and install VMware player
